If our OP had been a woman I would have given her the EXACT same advice I gave our male OP.

Whether you are male or female you learn to compromise for your partner.

You learn to sacrifice your preferances when something of importance comes up for them - they will do the same for you.

THAT's what makes a loving relationship - something some of our posters here will never have because they don't get this concept

The person was being selfish because the person didnt want to go to the other person's event, it would not have caused the person much time or stress if the person had just gone without putting up a fight, the person should learn to pick their battles, there are bigger comprimises a person must make in a relationship with another person..Happy??
