Default Do People Give Gifts for a 25th Wedding Anniversary?

I am curious if we should even register for gifts for our 25th wedding anniversary.
We are planning a big party, catered, DJ, the whole shebang!
And since we've never done this before is it customary to give gifts?
I know that when I have gone to one anniversary party before we took a small, pretty gift.
But I don't know what the etiquette is nowadays.
I do plan on setting up a website with our story and pics of our last 25 years that guests can go on and look at.
Can I put the registry info there?
I was thinking of putting our website address on the invites. Something like this:

What do you guys think??

I never heard of registering for an anniversary. It might be a regional thing. Gifts ARE given at anniversary parties.

I don't think registering is appropriate for an anniversary party (what would you put on there? Traditional wedding registry stuff?), but if I were attending one I would bring a gift. Probably something silver.

My siblings and I threw my parents a 50th anniversary party a couple of years ago, and we put on the invitations "in lieu of gifts, please make a donation to the charity of your choice." Most people just brought cards, anyway.

I think that would be pretty tacky and presumptuous.

Kids to parents. Parents to kids.

So you would go to the party and not give a gift?
