Gift shipping from Bed Bath & Beyond (wedding gift)

If I order a gift now on a Bed Bath registry for a wedding this summer, when does it get shipped and when does my credit card get charged? I wanted to call "dibs" on a certain gift by ordering early, but obviously I don't want them to receive a wedding gift 6 months early.

I would think you would have to buy it and ship it yourself if you are wanting to buy it now but not have it ship for another 6 months.
