Why aren't you also asking why men DON'T cry and "go over the top" with this?

C'mon, can't you figure it out???

I think a better question is why do grown men cry at sporting events?

Women sometimes cry during these times because unfortunately we are still programmed at an early age to think of love/romance/marriage as the ultimate goal, the bestest dream out there for us. So if it comes true for us or for someone we are close to, it makes us at least temporarily believe that the world is a rosy place to be.

I was just wondering why some women cry excessively, as if nothing joyful has happened in their lives until the proposal.

Because to them that is the GREATEST thing that could ever happen to them, and it has come true.

Nah....those same women cry that hard during cheesy romantic movies too. They're just the sappy types.

For most, its the last time, they will have enough hold over their man to keep him from watching sports on TV 6 nights a week. And if they play hardball, he'll just go elsewhere for the 7th night.

His profile says "old man" and he likes Perry Mason. You do the math.

Default Why do women cry at weddings??

I used to think that women who cry at weddings were just silly and overly sentimental. That was when I was younger and more idealistic.

Often it's the older, married women who cry and I know why they cry. It's because they know that what starts out with the best intentions, hopes, and (unrealistic?) expectations often degrades into disappointment and resentment. They remember their own wedding day and how happy and optimistic they were with the promises of the future and compare it to the reality of what they now know marriage to be.
