Well I grew up in Wellington, we lived near St. Rita's Catholic Church if you know where that is. I went to Wellington High School, which was alright for me. I graduated in 1997 which was a while ago so take anything I say with a grain of salt. WHS had a lot of AP courses which were pretty good, some of the teachers were great, some pretty average. It was always a kind of dirty school, especially in the older parts, hopefully they have cleaned it up some by now, I drove by recently and it looked pretty rehabbed. Also at that time it had all the kids from Royal Palm who were honestly a bit riff-raffy--but those kids got Royal Palm High a few years later so I guess now it's just Wellington kids.

The IB magnet program was at Suncoast High which was pretty far away, IB might have been a better education but I decided to stick with WHS and its AP classes instead of having to commute so much. I don't know what the IB situation in PBC is now. I guess the other HS in Wellington now is PB Central, I don't know anything about it but at least it's a new building so it will probably be a nicer place to attend.

For raising kids Wellington was alright I guess, it was a bit dull but it was safe and quiet, it still seems to be like that. Now there is the new mall and a lot more shopping centers so there is more to do.

The mall was built nearly 10 years ago, not really "new". Bored kids still hang out at the shopping center at Wellington Trace and Greenview Shores, but the mall is now a Mecca for them.
