We currently live in Upstate NY. I have 3 young children..ages 5, 2 1/2 and 2 1/2. There's a strong possibility that my husband could be taking a job with company in PBG.

If I'm being honest, we're totally freaked out a bit nervous. We're not sure how thrilled we are with the prospect of moving to South Florida, but it would be a better job and my inlaws, SIL and her family live in Boyton and Juno Beaches..so at least we're changing one family for another.

I lived in Tampa for almost 10 years in the past and am familiar with the weather in Florida and can live with it. However, I'm mostly concerned with the schools, and general cost of living in South Florida.

We'd be looking to rent off the bat..probably $1200 or so a month and my daughter with be starting Kindergarten in the Fall. I've had a few people suggest Wellington as a possible location, but my research has me thinking we're not going to be able to rent there for that price range.

We have looked at Lake Charleston on our last trip down..would that be too far of a drive for him to make to PBG??

I'd love any thoughts about location and anything that might help me feel a bit more comfortable about making the move!

Thanks!

I agree with saeroner, why not live in PBG? - it is one of the best areas in Palm Beach County. Lake Charleston is near Boynton Beach, about a 40 minute drive which can be brutal during rush hour. Boynton Beach is heavy with retirees while PBG is younger, upscale families.

Lake Charleston is off of Lake Worth Blvd on the boarder of Wellington. Very close to the Turnpike and about 20 minutes or less from PBG. You could be relocating to much worse places. Good luck!

Well, apparently there are two Lake Charlestons in the area!

I think bobstar meant hypoluxo, not lake worth...
Great area and very affordable compared to some of the surrounding communities.
