My fiance and I will be moving to PBC on June 20th. We'll be commuting daily to Congress Ave & Gateway Blvd, so we're looking to stay within about a 5 mile radius of that point - on the east side. Anything as far north as Lantana Rd, or as far south as Briny Breezes or Gulf Stream. We both spend a lot of time working at home, so a quiet residential area is ideal.

We're considering one of the low-rise gated communities (apartments or condos) like Renaissance Commons, Tuscany on the Intracoastal, Manatee Bay Apartments, etc. We've seen a few 1-bed/1-bath units for $1100 or less/month in these areas with renovated/upscale interiors and a washer & dryer inside.

Any comments on the places mentioned above? We would appreciate any suggestions for communities that we might have overlooked. Thanks!

One suggestion I would make is, if you can afford to buy, I would look into Sandalwood which is on the corner of Congress and Miner Rd. It is an older townhome community that is very well maintained, very quiet, very convenient to everything and also very affordable. It is a great community. The communities you mentioned are all acceptable, the only thing I may be concerned about is the noise at Ren Commons. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion - we will definitely look into Sandalwood. What noise issues were you referring to with Renaissance Commons? Noise from inside the community (residents), or noise from the outside the community (traffic)?

I live in Quantum Lake Villas and love it. Moved in a year ago and I'm renewing my lease this month. It's safe and quiet, nice pools, great secluded areas for walking my dog, great staff in their office, great maintenance people.
