Thanks, I'm one of those people who hates Miami and moved 1000's of mile to get there.

I should share my story sometime as I think it's pretty typical of the white flight to Broward and Palm beach and out of Dade for good.

It went something like this...

OMG, I'm moving to Miami
OMG, I'm living in Miami
OMG, I can't wait to get out of Miami

The total transformation took 3 months from love to hate. Hate turned to loathing and I really didn't want to leave the house towards the end.

One of my best days in Miami is the day I saw it out my front windshield and my very best day will be when I see it in my rear view mirror.

Your making a very good choice. Delray is nicer and more peaceful than Miami. You will love the change. Although if I were you and had the money, I wouldn't have stayed in FL period.

California! I cannot do Florida for any more years. I want to see different sights and meet new people. I'm relocating after summer ends next year. One more hot n' hellishly humid summer and I'm gone.

In which Miami neighborhood did you live?

I live in Brickell and would love to move to Delray, but I work in Brickell. When I can figure out the commute thing, I will be moving!

I like Miami, but like Delray much better. Miami is actually getting on my nerves a bit on the everyday thing, mainly the people. It is not noticeable until I go to Delray or Boca for a day and get a comparison.

North Miami, north of Midtown and just off US1.

You're a smart guy Boxus, one of the smartest who ever posted in the Miami forum.

It was never the city I had a problem with, it was the way people acted that drove me out. I didn't have a problem with the number of cars on the roads, it was the way people drove those cars.

I find Delray considerably more civil than Miami and the population generally more pleasant. After a year in Miami, I need some Americana.
