I'm wondering what's appropriate for my 5 going-on 13-year-old son (I'm half-joking but even his preschool teacher told me that she found herself in the middle of classroom arguing with him as she would her 25-year-old son - he is a master negotiator!). He loves Wii and 3DS games (no Xbox) as do his friends so I was thinking of a game party bus but I'm not sure it's for kindergarteners. The reason I'm considering this vs. the old Monkey Joes/Joey's Outback indoor bounce house option is that all he does at Joey's is badger me for tokens to play the video games, air hockey and other games. He's less and less interested in the bounce houses. A friend of mine said have the party bus at my house, get ths kids inside for some pizza, and send 'em back outside again to the party bus. Of course my 3-year-old son might have a fit because he can't play Wii yet - he likes his LeapPad.

Any other party ideas would be welcome. I am NOT creative or crafty, so I'd prefer to pay someone to come in and entertain the kids. I went to a Hi Touch Hi Tech party a few years ago where some exotic animals were brought in for the kids to see, but I'm sure that was pricey. I don't want to break the bank, but I also want to be kind of original. Another Joey's party makes me sigh (although it is convenient).

And if anyone knows of a GREAT face painter, let me know! My sons LOVE getting their faces painted as superheroes all the time.

Oh, and for those who might say skip the party, it's not an option this year. My son has been waiting to turn 6 for like... 5 years now, lol.
