I live in St. Pete, but have wanted to move to Jupiter for quite some time. The traffic in Jupiter and NPB/PBC seems pretty light amd the people are cool that I've met. There seems to be a nice mix of chain and local stores. Reasonable rents and close by cultural opportunities.

But....

Where are the jobs? Would I have to work in WPB and what is that commute like? I'm in financial services, and we have a PBG and WPB office. Nothing ever seems to open up though.

I appreciate your time. Thanks for reading and thanks for any input/feedback.

Traffic thins out around Jupiter north, but you will see major differences in this during season and when school is in session. Go further south into Central County and South County (Boca) and you will see some nice bumper to bumper traffic and congestion, especially during rush hour.

Jupiter does not have a Target or a Costco, you have to go to Northlake Blvd to get that, not a far drive but not a mile down the road either.

I do not know what your living standards are but rents here are not reasonable, they are quite high based on the average salaries ($21/HR).

"Jobs", there isn't many at least ones that pay great. Careers not so much, a lot of people want to move here and/or out of work, so competition is stiff. Depends on your line of work, you said "Financial Services" so you work at a bank or are you into wealth management? I can say wealth management is quite good here. Lot's of people with money or you can probably land a job in some low paying service job, but again competition is high.

I can't really say what I do in detail as to post my job on a website goes against my firm's compliance agreement (but that pretty much answers your question).

I am familiar with Boca and its traffic. I like South Floroda, but not so much for daily living. I like the relative respite of N. Palm Beach County. It's not Miami, but its not Apalachicola either

As for rent, I live in the city limits of St. Pete, so I'm not comparing apples to apples. Compared to where I am now, the rents in Jupiter are reasonable. If I lived 30 min outside of the city here, rents are about equal to slightly lower than Jupiter. The difference is that Jupiter is its own town and is nice. Outside of the cities here, you have crack-town or sprawling subdivisions with 4 lanes of angry drivers.

Thanks for the input. If I move out of St. Pete, it will probably be that general area.

I only know BB&T had recently some job openings but not on the brokerage side, I do not think. Jupiter to WPB is about 30 minutes and the commute is not bad at all. Juno is about 10 minutes closer. I think, Juno could be a little better location for you should you have to commute every day. Or, Palm Beach Gardens. Jupiter/Juno/Palm Beach Gardens melt together and all are quite nice.

I have found the rents in SE Florida to be the highest in the state, I am not aware St. Pete was a more expensive area to live, I would think it would be the opposite.

We have plenty of 8 lane highways with angry drivers, just have to drive a little south of Jupiter, I would say I experience plenty of bad drivers during season in and around Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens. Northlake Blvd is really bad.

The rents to live in a nice neighborhood near the city core in both Tampa and St. Pete have become ridiculous. They're better than Miami or Ft Lauderdale, but when I look in Jupiter, I see much better deals.

That's why I like Jupiter. It's just North of all the craziness

Are you looking for seasonal rentals or annual leases? May be I can point out an area-close to the beach-which is hardly ever advertised if ever.

I have to agree with you on that with the rents...and my aunt and uncle lived in St Pete/Reddington Shores for 20 years and now they live in Hillsboro mile and they couldnt believe how much more it was on the East coast than opposed to where they lived in St Pete and they are extremely wealthy
