Is Wellington a good town for a retired single person, or is it mostly families? I'd be interested in buying in a large, relatively new (post 2000 construction), nice, gated community, price range in the $300's for a one story concrete block home.

Buena Vida is a nice 55+ community in Wellington.
It's a good mix of people in the area.

Is it as nice a community as the Valencia communities by GL Homes in Boynton Beach? I note those are a bit higher-priced, but most of those communities are also newer.

Technically, I think Bellagio is considered Lake Worth (corner 441 & Lantana) but I knew someone in there that loved it. Plus, there is Wycliffe (441 & Lake Worth Rd - I think also considered Lake Worth) - although it doesn't exactly state it's a retirement community, they practically threw out friends of ours who had kids when they went to look in there several years ago.

Thank you - I looked at Wycliffe online and I think the fees may be high; there's a requirement for an equity country club membership, etc.

I know Wycliffe and Valencia Pointe well, as my grandmother lives in Wycliffe and my parents live in Valencia Pointe (gotta love those silly spellings). My grandmother is 91 and my parents are in their late sixties, so keep those ages in mind when looking (different generations of retirement).

Buena Vida is very nice, but it is the only 55+ in Wellington. Bellagio as someone mentioned is western Lake Worth and very nice. Both Buena Vida and Bellagio are jus tas nice as the Valencia IMO and I have been in both including the clubhouses etc but both are better priced, Valencia is way overpriced you can do better.

Other nice ones to look at would be Ponte Vecchio (no west) and Venetian Isles , both are large with active clubhouses and you will get a lot more bang for your buck than Valencia
