We are a young family with two young kids under 4 looking to relocate to SE Florida, we've heard great things about Boca (family members used to live there) and Wellington, but can anyone recommend any other family oriented areas? I will still have to travel to NY on occasion for work so we need to be near an airport. Right now we both commute over 2 hrs to work, and have had it with the freezing cold winters. We are hoping to find a 4 bd home with a yard (as we have two dogs) for under 400K in a safe area that has a good community feel, lots of parks/recreation and activities for kids and really good schools. Would appreciate any feedback on schools in the area and day to day living in general.....

Hi, we just moved to Boca but we are renting. We chose Boca for the combination of excellent schools and the distance to Ft Lauderdale and Miami airport and the beach. Before we made the move, we came for a visit, to get a feel of the area, visit some schools and we had a great realtor who showed us a lot of houses. There's plenty to do for children, lot's of parks, the beach…
Don't know about Wellington. My advise is: "come over and compare".

You might also consider looking into the Palm Beach Gardens and Jupiter areas. About a half hour north of Palm Beach International Airport.

I agree!
Boca, Wellington, Gardens, and Jupiter are all great for families but all very diverse! You would need to explore each one and see which one works for you!
