Where do you go to see good live, local music? What about performing arts, or even street art? I would like to have a little culture.

Kravis center for the Performing Arts near City Place in West Palm Beach for major shows. There are many small theater companies around the area, Maltz Jupiter Theatre comes to mind. Boca Raton, DelrayBeach, Lakeworth, Juno Beach (Art Fest by the Sea) and Abacoa in Jupiter (ArtiGras) all have outdoor art events throughout the year including the fantastic Street Painting Festival in Lake Work in February where artists from all over use chalk to create art on the streets. Also there are numerous cultural festivals throughout the year in various locations. Sunfest in West Palm beach is a big attraction every year with live music from nationally renowned bands (lots of pot smoking in the crowd at some of the acts which I do not care for)

On any given weekend you can find great live music in lots of places, many of them outdoors. Check out the Square Grouper in Jupiter, Lantana has lots of live music, Delray is another happening area for bands. There is so much going on in Palm Beach County arts and entertainment-wise that there is no way I can cover all of it here.

Bamboo Room is gone. I think the OP is young for some reason- you might like Propaganda in Lake Worth.

There's some kinda artsy festival going on in Lake Worth this coming weekend. I'll look it up. Okay, it's music and live graffiti art. It's called OffTheWall.

Visiting (and joining) the Palm Beach Cultural Council in dt Lake Worth is a really good idea. Great newsletter and magazine for all types of art.. The building itself is cool , and through them you will always know what's going on.Don't remember what the exhibit is now. It's really a good place to get involved. The Norton in WPB will be opening a photography exhibit on the 20th. Also look up LULA- Lucerne and Lake Av art organization in Lake Worth. lakewortharts.com

And the Stonzek Theatre in dt LW. Has a Songwriters Circle, shows indie and foreign films. Live theater sometimes.

If you want to get into working with stained or fused glass the McMouw place in LW is great and they usually have some groupon for classes.

Bradley's at the east end of Clematis has live bands. I guess Roxy's does too.
Armory Art Center now has an annex in LW.

Also, try not to miss JJGrey Mofro in West Palm! Dec 16-17 at Lafayette's Music Room (was BB King's) in CityPlace. He'll be with Mofro and Darrell Hance Trio.
They're Florida boys. Of course you can check out the site for samples.
Oxford Magazine called JJ the "swami of swamp rock". He was a favorite at the Bamboo Room and usually sells out, especially when he's solo.
