Relocating to delray area (Delray Beach, Jupiter: real estate, HOA, neighborhoods)

Hello my name is al, my wife and i are starting to plan our relocation from Buffalo NY to hopefully the delray area. I do have a few questions . I have been in the automotive business for 35 years. I have held General Management positions, GSM, SM positions throughout my career.I actually lived in WP and Jupiter in the 80's and then again in the 90's and worked in management positions at Palm Beach Acura and Palm Beach Mitsubishi. I'm taking a shot here that somebody reading this has some insight on the state of the auto business in south Florida. Also we have looking at real estate in Delray and it looks reasonable in the 200k to 300k range with a pool. I guess our question there is are we seeing this the way it really is or are we missing something. We would appreciate any input on our concerns.

Delray Beach does have pockets of neighborhoods that are in the 200,000 - 300,000 price range. The only thing I would check for is the area, as some areas are better than others and information about the HOA. HOA prices vary widely from community to community and many can add a couple of hundred dollars to your monthly expenses. Some associations also have a membership that must be purchased at closing. This typically adds 30,000 or more at the time of closing that needs to be in cash. Good Luck!
