Hi all!
My husband has a job interview in Jupiter so I was looking at places to live.. Wow! The prices!!
I'm retired, hubby isn't the retiring type, lol. Early 60's. We have two medium small dogs so would like a fenced area. Where do people live in or near Jupiter without having to lose an arm and a leg?
It looks like a lovely area but but 150k to 200k is about where we're looking.
We live in the mid west now and our 3 bdrm 2 bath huge fenced yard house = $135k, so looking at these tiny condos and houses for 300k and up it's a bit of culture shock! 😳

There's some smaller townhouse communities that might work.
Jupiter is one of the higher priced cities in Palm Beach County.

Palm Beach Gardens and Hobe Sound will have cheaper alternatives.

BTW you will see lots of cars that cost more than your 135K 3/2 house in the Jupiter area.

Would your husband consider a 30-45 minute commute? If so, look north of Jupiter in Port St. Lucie. Good luck. We looked at Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens too, and for us, husband retired, we also walked away due to the prices.

PS: Jupiter has a great off leash dog beach. If your pups like the water, you should check it out!

The whole area seems to be terribly high priced. And the sizes are postage stamp. Wow. I'd love to take my dogs to the beach, but will have to look elsewhere.

You are just 25 years too late! Back in the day 1.25 acre lots with 3/2 homes could be had in Jupiter Farms for 135K. Now a lot costs more than that.

Got 20 million? Here is a 50 acre estate, 8 bedrooms/10 baths:

I agree with the other posters who suggested looking elsewhere.
Jupiter's very expensive as you've seen, I can't think of anywhere in South Florida where you wouldn't experience culture shock with your budget - especially coming from the Midwest.
Best of luck!
