OP, you have good taste. I would look in Martin County -- excellent, one of the best counties in FL.

My old friend Burt even had a 'cabin' here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Dang it, we found out about that after he had gone bye bye. $3.5 million is no chicken feed no matter where it is/was.

I think Royal Palm Beach would be a good option for you.

There is an area in west lake worth unincorporated that has great schools. Look west of Jog off Lantana road. The high school is park vista. Not too far from Wellington.

We moved last summer to Wellington- we pay 1800 for a 3 bedroom, the place we rent has an AMAZING pool, we feel safe, the school my kids are zoned at is good. Anywhere you rent in Wellington you can be guaranteed a good school, comparatively, to other schools in the district. Coming from out of state you will see that the public schools can be a transition and at least for us, there were some adjustments- but Wellington has some of the best teachers and schools are well funded. The city itself is safe and there are tons of kid activities (many free!!) and great parks. We have been very happy with Wellington- and while we are not sure we will buy a home here, it is a great place to start out in and get to know the area. Here are just some of the events that happen in Wellington- https://www.wellingtonfl.gov/governm...s/amphitheater

There are many, many beaches within 30 minutes of Wellington and it is fun to explore the different areas. For us, the drive has not been bothersome and part of the adventure of coming to a new place and discovering different beaches.

I think that you can find 2 bedroom apts for that price, in Wellington, or in other areas around PBC. I would check out the district website and click on the school designated for the apt. There, you can see the school grade and other info. I would also check out this crime map - https://www.crimestopperspbc.com/crime-map/ and put in the address of any place you are looking at. The boundaries are very loose here and merge together- it is almost impossible to categorize the safety/schools of a one city.... instead better to focus on the neighborhood and location.

I work for the district and am in and out of several schools. If there is a particular one you are curious about feel free to send me a PM and I can fill you in more.

Good deal for Wellington 3br. We live here too, off Lake Worth Rd and do like it. We really wanted Boca but weren't able to get the house we wanted within our budget. Wellington is also a great investment long term for rental income during season if you're close to the polo grounds.

He lived in both. His Reynold’s Ranch is in Jupiter and it’s now becoming a development (in Jupiter Farms).
