My house in NJ is sold and I am looking for a place in this area. I was considering Hidden Harbor in Royal Palm Beach, Reserve & paek at Riverbridge in in Green Acres section of WPB and Polo Lakes in Wellington. However on a rental forum I read nothing but problems in these places. I was also considering St. Andrews at the Polo Club in Wellington or Smithbrooke in Lake Worth, however those 2 are kind of expensive but I guess I'd rather overpay for a year and be in a place I feel remotely safe in thhen be stuck in a place with nothing but problems. Anyone have any experience here with any of these places?

I will make this very easy on you. Forget Greenacres! Forget Lake Worth! You do NOT want to live at Riverbridge....The Royal Palm Beach community is nice. The what used to be remote city is now a fast growing major city, But everything is at your fingertips including the Wellington Mall, and two very good hospitals. Both Royal Palm and Wellington are nice places. Currently there are many foreclosures in both of these areas if you want to consider a sing fam home. Rent is also going down right now. On the plus side, the roads are maintained and they are nice communities.
Lots of Luck

I was considering Smithbrooke, which technically is considered Lake Worth, but most people consider it West Boynton from what I hear. It is just west of hypoluxo and jog. Any feedback on this area? My parents live off of lyons in lake Worth and have never had any problems.

Default If I had the Choice, Royal Palm/Wellington

I have not heard of Smithbrooke, but drive by it at least twice a month! (Tunnel Vision Driver).
The areas you are describing, to my knowledge, are not bad at all. They are a little more rural I would say, compared to living IN the city limits of Royal Palm and Wellington. I grew up in Greenacres. Some of my family still lives in that area. I would never move to that area again, nor would I live in any of the HOA's. There are nice areas around Green/LW obviously, but I guess I would take into consideration how far away from my home is the scary places.
Lyons does have nice areas and so does the "West Boynton" as well. You will be close to nice mall, and close enough to hospitals.
If I had the choice though, I would personally settle in as close to Royal Palm or Wellington.
Good Luck.
