If you need schools Id say Boca or Jupiter even...Jupiter is very family oriented as boca with a different flair...I have a few aquaintances that moved to Jupiter because their dh's are working more north florida and they like it coming from boca alot more younger kids she says than older kids...She prefers boca however she is happy with the schools in Jupiter..Boca has the Stigma Jupiter doesnt...and according to them there are plenty of people in Jupiter like the Boca People I guess it depends on where one lives...

Palm beach gardens - less congested; nice communities; more walkable areas.

well Jupiter is more suburban..remember Boca is surrounded by Delray, Deerfield Beach and not far from Ft Lauderdale..we go out pretty often dh and I with the kids and without the kids and we eat from Ft lauderdale to Delray Beach and she says Boca is just more centrally located...

Definitely! PBG is still kind of quiet and very suburban. Boca has easy access to Fort Lauderdale and the area is more filled in. If you like to eat out (at non-chain restaurants) and experience more cultural activities versus being a homebody, I would strongly consider Boca.

There's really not too much of major importance in Boca that doesn't have a North county counterpart (Boomers, perhaps, excepted, lol)

Boca's major advantage is its proximity to Fort Lauderdale and other municipalities with interest, such as downtown Delray.

Gardens-Jupiter's advantage is that its much less congested and more affordable. But, there are tons of restaurants, (yes, non-chain - the PBpost used to have a feature called "eat your way down PGA Blvd) theaters, world class shopping, performing arts, etc. in the area.

Really, the OP should spend a day in both locales to see which fits them better.

Boomers is the entertainment complex near the airport/FAU in Boca, with go karts, laser tag, etc.

You should visit both, are you planning on working or retired?

Boca is more upscale and expensive and congested. If your Jewish you will find Boca more inviting for the scene, temples, people and food i.e bagels, nova and lox, knishes and etc. Shalom in da Home. FAU is has the main campus located off of Glades and 95. Nice very upscale mall with high end stores.

Palm Beach Gardens has become more upscale, but at a smaller scale. PGA is a congested mess but no-where near as bad as Glades in Boca. More seasonal to a degree, somewhat more Golf oriented with PGA National being nearby. FAU has a campus at Abacoa in Jupiter. Nice upscale mall with more high end stores but not nearly as extreme as Boca. A lot of the typical stores Target and etc are on Northlake which is on the south end of Palm Beach Gardens near Lake Park. Northlake is a congested mess.

Both Boca and Palm Beach Gardens have no car dealers, much like where I live in Wellington, strict ordinances. So you have to go to Delray or south if you live in Boca or for Palm Beach Gardens, north to Jupiter or south to Northlake in Lake Park. Not a big deal depending on where you live.

I find the people in Palm Beach Gardens to be nicer/friendlier compared to Delray and Boca, this is subjective but I notice more seniors in South County (Boynton/Delray/Boca) some of which cannot drive very well and are often crabby. I also find Palm Beach Gardens more laid back, relaxing and convenient to some good amenities and the beaches (Juno Beach and etc.)

Really suggest you visit and get a taste....
