We are looking into Boca but were just told by a relative that lives there that the property taxes are outrageous. From our own brief research they didn't look that bad...does it depend on what area of Boca you live in?

For budgeting purposes, assume property taxes will be 2-2.5% of assessed value (without exemptions, etc.)

Sometimes if you look at the property appraiser's website, the value/taxes will seem lower (and sometimes, higher) than what they will ultimately be if you pay after you buy the house.

there is to give u an example a home in Broken Sound CC baynans 2000 sq ft home with screened porch and pool 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and its 3265.00 a year..it depends on how much the home cost obviously the larger the home the more your taxes will be...when we called the tax office they told us the same thing Tri just said however you can after a certain period of time see if you qualify for homestead...if there is a house you are looking at u can call the tax assesor's office and they can give u an idea of how much they would be..You will also pay less tax in Unincorporated Boca than u will in City Limits we live in City Limits of Boca
