Hi all, I am currently in the process of choosing between graduate spots at either the University of South Florida or Florida Atlantic University. I was wondering if people may be able to offer insight on each area. Also from what I have heard, Boca Raton is a very expensive area. Are there any nice areas that may be less expensive that are still within reasonable distance to FAU (20-25 minutes). Thank Your for your help.

My older brother graduated from USF, and I graduated from FAU!

I always considered USF a slightly better school quite frankly and now wonder if going there would have been a better choice for me.

On the other hand, Boca Raton and Palm Beach County is much nicer than Tampa and Hillsborough County ... the beaches, culture, nightlife, etc. is superior and more sophisticated on Florida's "Gold Coast" (Miami-Ft.Lauderdale-Palm Beaches). You don't have to live in upscale and expensive Boca Raton; when I went there many students lived in the next door affordable towns like Deerfield Beach or Delray Beach.

Have you done your research? Which school has the better department and/or program for you?

really I would be studying different things at each school. At USF I would be getting a Master's in Athletic Training, but at FAU I would be getting a Master's in Sports Management or Exercise Physiology. So graduate school is pretty comparable to one another. I guess I was just trying to get a feel for each of the cities and the respective schools.
