My husband will be retire in April. We want to move to FL. We heard Palm beach county is nice for family, but we don't know which area will be a safe area for family with a 14yrs teen boy. We want to be somewhere housing are in 175s to 200s not too expensive and close to the beach. I know that is too much to ask but if I could get some input that will be great.

West Lake Worth, (lake Charleston) area would be good in that price range. Park Vista is a high rated high school and you're only 15-20 min to the beach. Should be able to get a 18-2100 sqft home in a nice community.

Palm Beach Gardens/Abacoa area. My sister lives in PBG. It's a very nice, family area. You can buy a 3BD townhome/condo in Abacoa for $145k+. The Gardens Mall is very nice and they have nice and a safe movie theater. Plus, close to Juno Beach which is a great family beach. Also, very close to Palm Beach Airport. You can find lots of condos like this in the area. I would recommend renting for a year. Prices aren't going up in that area anytime soon and there are tons of townhomes to rent.

You can get a home in Boynton Beach along Congress Ave. for that price with a nice pool and a 2 car garage. Close to the newest restaurants and the Mall.

Lake Charleston has gone down hill over the years.
