I'm new to the forum, but have read some extremely helpful posts, so I thought I would give this a shot. Within the next year or so, I plan to relcoate from MA to FL. Right now, I am considering the Boca area because I have a good friend there - and a job that allows me to work from home. I'd like to rent a 2 bedroom/1 or 2 bath condo, town-house or single family home for one year...just to ensure that I like the area and it meets my long-term needs. I can afford up to $1700.00 per month in rent. Here is my "WISH" list...I realize all of these things may not be attainable, but a girl can try!

1. Within a 10-15 min. drive to LA Fitness on Technology Way, Whole Foods (not Publix), a beach and shopping/restauarants.
2. Must allow a (one) 10 lb. dog - maltese fluff-ball breed
3. MUST be ground (1st floor) level
4. Modern/updated kitchen & bath (would love some granite countertops, but not essential).
5. HW floors preferred (less carpet the better)
6. Pool access would be nice, but not essential
7. Safe neighborhood where I could walk my dog outside and not get mugged.

Any input on specific complexes, communities, streets or areas would be very much appreciated. I am planning a visit to Boca to "scout" out the area and will be making a list of properties/areas to view.

Thanks so much.

Darena

I don't know about the rental market but we have been house hunting and saw some houses in that area. There is a nice neighborhood between Federal and Dixie called Chatham Hills. I don't know the names of the subdivisions immediately north or south, but that section from Yamato down to Glades are mostly SFHs. There are a few small condo and apartment complexes along Federal (US1) which might work for you too.

If you want to live in a complex with amenities, there are endless options just west of 95, which is a bit further from the beach, but not much.

Just wondering if you have relocated yet and what you think of Boca?
