Not too many dog friendly beaches around. I believe there's one in Lauderdale. Google it.

Assuming you are on the corner of Swinton and Atlantic and are headed west, you will see the change right after 5th ave. The CRA (redevelopment association) is trying its best so you may even see really nice homes/structures while driving through the "hood" but..... it will take a while.

Overall the "good" area is the NE corner and Pineapple Grove.

East Delray is cool. Lots of restaurants, boutiques, bars, lounges, some clubs and goood restaurants....DaDa's in particular (favorite),
however west of 5th ave is a historically black neighborhood. I dont like calling it ghetto, because its not, its just low income/poor working class families, etc.
Ghetto connotates shootings, rapes, etc, which isn't common at all.

For a single male east delray would be ur best bet, or even east boca around mizer park.....very yuppiy-ish.

west delray...like military trail jog rd area is retirement centrak and suburban in nature, kinda boring...not bad tho, just a little bla.
