They look good on Great Schools and the PB school district sites. Does anyone have recent experience at these schools?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. Relocating with teens is tough and they are in a small private school now. I was one of the parents working two and three jobs to keep them there, so we've had the snobbiness discussions. I think (hope) that the biggest issue will be the size of the schools.

My game plan is to find a small, older home to rent in the neighborhood east of Mizner Park and get them involved with a youth group at the Methodist church over the summer so they will have some friends before they start school. I have to move down soon and there is a chance that I will have to bring them down before school is out- which would be hard for them. And they would miss all the year end activities with their friends at school.

Wow, the city rec programs look great, too. I was on the parks and rec website and can't believe all that is offered... and they can ride bikes to tennis, the pool, the skate park....

Thanks for the quick reply..... I'm getting excited about the move.....until I think of packing

To get buy-in from my 13 YO GD and 16 YO son, I gave them the option- swimming pool or ocean. They both immediately said "ocean". I was looking in Broward, but stayed with friends in Boca. It's Boca for us. The neighborhood near the Methodist Church is safe and would place us a mile away, so I am hoping to find an old house that we can afford to rent. Will be keeping our townhouse in Jax- my 29 YO son may move in, as it is on the same block as my mom.

I can handle jalousie windows and window a/c to live so close to the beach if it means my kids are happy...only hoping that I can find a place with 2 bathrooms.

It's reassuring to hear that your son made a smooth transition. I was moved to Broward at 13 and kinda went off track. But I think my two will take advantage of all that is available down there. They are into sports and make friends easily. I will have to tell them about the swim team.
