But, the education begins at home and hopefully one can inpart to their children the dangers and effects drugs have and hopefully, they will make the right decisions.

If you were moving in the summer, then we'd have a better chance with your home February is a bit too soon.

I wish you luck and hope you love your new digs
I am from FL and husband is from Buffalo.
As for beginning education at home....I homeschool.

Question I have some questions too

I also looked for property when I was down there last time. I saw some property across from Leisureville that was condo converted from apartments. Was that Boynton~? What part of Boynton, east or west~? Leisureville was nice, but I am not 55+ to move into that community. How does Boynton compare to Delray~? I enjoy the kind of entertainment that Delray has as well as being near the beach. Does Boynton have similar entertainment~? Is it near a beach, and where~? I'll be looking again when I come down there. Thanks and have a nice holiday season.

Woolbright sounds familar. I think it is those. They were apartments at one time. Has a clubhouse and tennis courts. The area around it when I left didn't look so nice....or rather the people walking around the area.

Must be off of Boynton Beach Blvd as those converted condos have a clubhouse and tennis courts. They are called Casablanca. And no, not a good area/place to live.

As for Clint Moore in Boca. Don't know that street well. removed - inappropriate comment Not my kind of town. West Boynton is nice. A good age/demographic mix and safer than the east part.

Hello, we moved to FL from NY almost 2 yrs ago, we are both 33 and have a 3 yr old daughter. We moved to Boynton Beach because my ILs have been living in a 55+ community in west Boynton Beach for almost 10 yrs.

We rented for 1 year before we bought a home in one of the Canyon communities. There are 4 Canyons and we have a town center WELCOME - Canyon Town Center, Boynton Beach, FL plus an elementary school Browser Not Supported . Canyon area parents have also been trying to get a middle/HS built, but that's a whole other story. There are about 2,000 kids in the Canyon communities. The majority of kids on our block are under age 10 but you see kids of all ages at the pool, tennis courts, etc. It is definitely a community where you get to know your neighbors. We have not been here a year yet but our daughter already has a best friend and has made many friends playing in the community playground and taking classes (dance, swim, etc.) at the clubhouse. I have seen comments where people suggest the Canyons are not diverse but I don't see that all, and I LIVE here. I have Hispanic, Asian, White, Jewish, African American, Indian, etc. neighbors and we all get along. Our kids play together and I feel a really comforting sense of community here.

As far as crime, if you come from a big city you know stuff like that can happen anywhere. Our car was broken into in NY even though we lived in a doorman building with an in-ground garage! There have been some minor problems since we moved here such as stolen GPS units from unlocked cars and a break in (no details) but I still feel relative safe. The management company here usually sends an e-mail when something happens and the neighbors know to be on alert. We have security gate, security patrols and an alarm system came with the house - and a having big mutt we got from one of the local animal rescues doesn't hurt either

We don't really venture out to Boca much because of the traffic, and usually to go to the mall because our local mall doesn't even have a Gap. We go out to Delray's Atlantic Ave. more often because the restaurants are really good and it reminds us a bit of NY. That is the one thing we miss most about NY, the food! The closest decent Indian restaurant is more than 1/2 hr away although there is plenty of good (and bad) Italian. We just recently got a Sushi Yama at the Town center which has top notch sushi, and we are also addicted to this dive called Tacos al Carbon where you can get some fast (but fresh) Mexican favorites.

BTW - my husband works in Boca and I still work up north via telecommuting. Other than some signal problems that were fixed by Comcast, I have had very little trouble working from a virtual office.

Hope this helps!

Love tacos al carbon. Also we are loving Roccos Tacos in Boca. So pretty and so much fun anytime (but especially happy hour).
