The traffic issues in Delray are on Atlantic Blvd east of 95, primarily during season thanks in part to all the eateries and etc and the railroad crossing which makes traffic crawl. Boca is way worse than Delray, try taking Spanish River from FAU west sometime at 5PM and see the traffic backed up or try Glades of course when school is in session and season is in full throttle, when school is out, it's night and day in terms of the amount of cars on the road.

My main concern so far is finding something 3 bedroom with a garage in a decent area within 15 miles of downtown delray for under 1600 a month. For what I want within a few miles of delray im looking at like 2200+ and thats just crazy for what i've seen of the area so far.

I miss living in Delray and would still take it over most towns here, even if it is overpriced.

dm sent, eoddom. Welcome to the 33445 zone from all of us !

As for drug problems, etc in Delray, it's a lot less than in other places.

I would love to move to more rural area in central Florida, but I really would have to live "in fear of exploding meth labs" and tweakers, no matter how much they try to downplay it.

Haha thanks I'm enjoying it so far. Been putting in 11 hour days at the new office since I've been here and getting my place put together on the weekends but what we've seen of the area so far we've really enjoyed. Lots of nice folks around here.

I like East Delray and had dinner last week at 32 East. US1 was torn up/construction, traffic was backed up 3+ intersections south so I took a side street parallel to Atlantic to Swinton. Next obstacle was parking, garage was $10/Valet was $5 (but you don't know where they end up parking the car). I was meeting someone so essentially parking would be $20 (two cars) and there was nothing available on the street. I thought $20 for parking on a weeknight at 6:30 pm was ridiculous. Ended up parking on Atlantic in front of the tennis center (across from police station) and walking 500 ft back to 32 East. It made for an easy exit and it actually was closer than parking in the garage a block north of Atlantic. Dinner was great but I think the parking/traffic issue would make me think twice about trying to head there on a holiday weekend or in season.
