Parkland has this... check out Shoppes of Parkland... BJ's and other stores, restaurant's, etc. are there right in the city itself. All are very clean and well-maintained to boot!

I think when everyone thinks of Manhattan they think of TODAYS Manhattan, and todays Manhattan is nothing like the Manhattan that I grew up in. I grew up on the upper west side and though i wouldnt change that experience for the world, Manhattan was considered a really crappy place to grow up back then. The midtown areas (Grand Central and 34th street) were complete slums where prostitutes used to roam sometimes even in broad daylight. There was a lot of crime in central park and on the subways during those days and there were areas to completely avoid. I say all that to say that while Manhattan has changed drastically under the Guiliani administration, it wasnt always what people made it out to be. But you are right, good or bad there is NO place like Manhattan, I entertained with the idea of relocating for years but just couldnt find a place that compared to my home town, then i realized that such didnt exist. I came very close to ATL but changed my mind after a few visits. I think South Florida comes closest to the multi-cultural flavor that we are looking for.

I used to live in Boca and still work there in fact. Being in the retail industry I can honestly say that Boca is chockful of some of the most demanding, uptight, snotty malcontents that have ever walked the face of planet Earth. Back in the day, about 15 to 20 years ago, Boca was a sleepy little town with low crime and a very leisurely pace...no longer. It has become just as much of a rat race as any other major metropolis, making national headlines recently in fact with the murder of a 40-something single mom and her young daughter. Palm Beach Gardens maintains the same snooty atmosphere of Boca, but without all the hustle and bustle, at least for now. Check back in 5 years and I'm sure we'll be telling a different story.
