I'm moving to Lake Park with my sister. We are from San Diego. The place is only 10 minutes away from my work. I just did some research that Lake Park has really high crime rate. I'm pretty nervous about if I should move in. So my question is if it's really bad, or just some part of it? which part I should avoid to live? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I think its proximity to Riviera Beach means there is some criminal spill-over. Its definitely not the worst area around there as far as housing goes, but my opinion is the location makes it prone to undesirable stuff. If you are that worried about it, consider Palm Beach Gardens which is right next door. Much safer, relatively speaking. There's also Juno and Jupiter. The more northerly you go, the better it gets.

Lake Park has some decent affordable housing. I'd look into North Palm Beach if I were you. Relatively well-kept, working/middle-class developments (some affluent pockets), close proximity to the Gardens Mall and within' a 10-minute drive (15-20 in traffic) from the CityPlace if you are into the nightlife aspect of things.

But as ThunderKat said, Juno Beach and Jupiter are some truly desirable, family-friendly and (somewhat) conveniently priced... somewhat conveniently priced when put in perspective with the western (family-friendly) reaches of Boca Raton and Delray Beach, that is.
