I need opinions please.

We are looking at this house that is in the area south of Forest Hill Blvd, East of Olive just before it hits the border of College Park in Lake Worth. It's called South of Southern.

The house is in great condition even though it was built in the 50s. But the owner put a lot into it. It has a pool etc.

I'm not worried about the house, but would like to know what you guys think of the neighborhood. Is it a hot neighborhood and worth moving into? We are about a block from the intracoastal.

We are going to spend a lot of money and I just want to make sure it's in the right place.

Any advice will be appreciated.

It's a good area. I'd live there. Very nice homes, quiet. Good elementary school. Anything within sight of the water or on "lake blocks" in southeastern WPB is selling for very high prices.

Well, "SoSo" (AKA, the Southend) of West Palm is not technically Lake Worth. It refers to the area in West Palm that is east of Dixie Highway, south of Southern to the Lake Worth border.

Lake Worth has it's pockets of charming and nice, amidst the bad rap. Northeastern part of the town of Lake Worth (especially college park, which borders SoSo), is quite nice.

Agreed.

However, LW has its share of homeless and Rehab centers now (competing with Del-Ray). So, like every other place, LW has its good and bad streets/areas.

On the plus side, LW has nice waterways and a pretty kewl downtown.

Another neg side of LW is the fact that they have their own utility company which you must use for water and power. Need-less to say, they are bout 50% more expensive than FPL and comparable towns in WPB.

Pluses and Minuses like every other city....

Lake Worth utilities are much cheaper than FPL. It is good here. Welcome!

Congrats on your new home! We were looking between So So and Lake Clarke Shores. We ended up in LCS, closing in a few weeks.
