I live in a community with 901 homes. We have a Masters Association and a Homes and Villas Association.
Currently we pay our Maintenance with one check to Masters Association. We are thinking of changing to two checks one to Masters and one to either Homes or Villas.
We feel will be "cleaner" and make our Accounting easier.

Does anyone have an opinion or experience on this issue?

thank much

I do not see how that can help at all. Both ways work the same. Right now you pay one check which makes it easier for the owner but a little more work for the master hoa, if you paid 2 checks now you have more work / accounting and the master less.

If you pay one check the master should be accounting for the funds and which portion belongs to the homes / villas and transferring funds immediately to the other association. Do not see the point in making the switch. Either way works, and both ways should work exactly the same, so I would tend to say leave it the way it is.

Most HOAs prefer one check then they just divide the money up between Master's and the subdivision association. Not really sure how this would make your life easier. I know with my association, I pay the subdivision every month but they pay master's every three months. I suggest checking with your association and see what the policy is but the money will work out to be the same no matter what route you take.
