I've been looking for work about a year more or less, I finally just gave up. The reality is that the economy in many parts of Florida doesn't seem to be growing anymore. Many places that a few years ago were hiring, are not now. Companies seem skittish about hiring, even if there is a need for it (been to plenty of places lately where there were quite a few long lines). Florida and maybe the rest of the country are entering a recesion.

Look at the DOW, even Wall Street is catching on that we are in a recession.

Personally, my take is that this recession didn't have to happen like this. I blame the Republicans who ran the Fed for so long without rebuke, and the Republicans running the state that are in bed with developers and encouraged unsustainable developement here. I'm seriously thinking about going back to school and getting an AA/bachelors degree in accounting or something related. I don't know what else to do, this place does look bleak though and I'd discourage anybody from moving down here right now. If anything they should be thinking about packing up their bags if they have a place up north that will be hit less hard by the upcomming recession that is brewing. Parts of the Midwest, Northeast, upper Northwest and Texas look like they are the most sound.

What about jobs in Florida like Home Depot, or Publix do they hire full time or only part time? Just to have some money coming in until you find your "dream job"
