Problems in Boca Raton
My wife and I are 25, with a newborn, living in Boca. We have been here for 3 years and have found the people to be unfriendly to the extreme. Selfish, materialistic, shallow, and no one cares to have anything to do with one another. Additionally, there is no one in our age group.
Any suggestions of alternative places to live within an hour or so from here? We want a place with some life and friendly, outgoing, relatively young people!

Knowing of them and knowing what the people are like are 2 different things.

Within an hour? That's local. Go to the towns. Get involved. Join clubs so you meet people that like to do what you do. Haven't you been to all the towns withing an hour of you yet? Come on, you've been there for three years.
What do you want people to do? If you want to meet them, you need to make the first effort.

Same thing has happenned to my friends that moved to Manalapan. Very snooty and not openly friendly. They moved from Sunny Isles (years ago) and have regretted it everyday!
Sad to have to live around such miserable people!
Remember...MONEY doesn't buy CLASS!
They are in there late 30's too...much younger than most in Manalapan!

The median age here being 43 years old doesn't help us. This is why we want to move to an area with younger people... any suggestions? Orlando? Tampa?

Miami Beach, then in 10 years you will be too old for it.

For a younger suburban community that's a bit less superficial try Coral Springs. Eastern (emphasis on eastern) Ft. Lauderdale is good for young professionals and it's less uptight than Miami Beach or Boca. For more eccentric downtown Hollywood, and try to find a residence east of the Circle for safer neighborhood or in one of the newer condominiums. Doesn't matter if you are a rocker dude, a crackhead or a young black gay professional, you will find someone like minded there. Or if you want really young, check out Miami Beach. Also, you have less intense coastal communities in Dade that are pretty cool like Surfside where it's pretty easy to meet people.
Who mentioned Wellington? The only difference between Wellington and west Boca is polo sticks instead of golf clubs. Suburban PBC is the Orange County of the east coast.

Not really accurate, Polo is only played by a small number of people in Wellington, most are from someplace else and area seasonal visitors. Sure Tommy Lee Jones is an avid player and has a house and a large amount of land in the community and a few other celebs and personalities reside there.
I wouldn't compare it to the Orange County, CA. Maybe some similar aspects but not close in the magnitude.
Everyone plays golf, and you can do it rather cheaply at one of the public courses. Average Wellington resident is no different on the income level then someone living in Weston for example. The Welllington Mall is not high end, Boca Towne Center is the direct opposite, I remember when it was an average mall now it's crème de la crème with Neiman Marcus and etc. Add in Mizner Park.
I see more wealth in Boca then Wellington on any given day.
I mentioned Wellington because it's family oriented and much younger overall then Boca. Wellington has a very nice park system where I see plenty of 20 somethings playing sports and etc. Okeeheelee Park is nearby as well, super nice Dog Park, water skiing, BMX track and etc.
