Palm Beach County?
After visiting friends in both Manalapan and Wellington last week...thinking about moving to Palm Beach County.
Manalapan is out...can't afford. Really liked Wellington.
Out of the following cities...which would offer the best taxes & lower crime...and why do you like one city over the other.
Wellington
Boynton Beach
Delray Beach
Boca Raton
THANKS for your replies!

Welliington by far. West (unincorporated) Boynton Beach has that south Orange County meets Long Island feel to it. It is very plastic and so are the people. Boca Raton is the same thing times 20. I feel Boca is an excellent place to live but I don't know if I could deal with that "attitude". Incorporated (east) Boynton is an odd mixture of ritzy, ultra guarded gated communities and poverty. Kind of like, um, a third world country. Wellington actually feels kind of normal. The people there are comparatively down to earth (for PBC), it's relatively safe, there is a decent mix of people there (for a PBC suburb), and although it feels kind of empty it's very pretty looking.
Delray is great if you are either
A. A rehab patient
B. 55 plus
OR
C. If you live near their BEAUTIFUL walkable downtown area with great restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, etc and close proximity to the beach.
So my personal pick would be DOWNTOWN Delray, but if you want a more suburban experience, go Wellington. The only thing bad about it is that it is pretty far west although with the improvements on Southern Blvd you can get east quickly nowadays. It doesn't have the same level of entertainment, shopping and dining as Boca but it also doesn't have that fake money attitude like Boca, where it seems like everyone is trying to put on a show. Wellington is more family oriented.
I would also consider Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens as they are closer to the beach. Jupiter kind of shares qualities with Wellington and PB Gardens with Boca.

I know it is kinda remote and in Martin County...but I really liked Hobe Sound & Stuart. Not sure if I want to live that far North.
Only thing about Wellington is that it is a ways off of I-95 (which in So Florida that is a good thing)!
My friends live in Versailles on 441. Between Lake Worth Rd & Forest Hills Blvd. Liked that Wellington looked new and looked like a safe areawith lots of conveniences!

Here is how I would rank them best to worst: Wellington, Boca, Delray, Boynton.
Wellington has great schools and the same amenities without the higher cost of Boca. Plus it is harder to get to which keeps out some of the crime.
Delray and Boynton are ok but the crime is much higher there. You really are only a few neighborhoods away from trouble.
Good luck
