For all the towns in PBC can someone indicate areas in blue are some of the best, areas in green have some nice areas and some not so nice areas. Areas in red are mostly "stay away" areas (like a poster did in the LA forum, re: San Fernando Valley, please reference above links). This should "expand upon" our current thread...Thanks.

15. West Palm Beach

Can we cut the "North end" of West Palm Beach off and cede it to Riviera Beach, or will that area continue to represent what people think of West Palm Beach like Harlem representing Manhattan?

Oh yeah, that and "Suburban" West Palm Beach... which is just characterless and bland, and unfortunately, is what a lot of people "see" of the city as they travel around Okeechobee Blvd....THAT needs to be it's own city as well.

Southern Blvd has a weird feeling to me. What is that classified as? The south end of WPB reminds me of South Tampa a LOT. Okeechobee Blvd west of 95 can get annexed into Broward County, city of Ft. Lauderdale with all of the porno stores and bland strip malls.

Are we talking East of 95, or West?

The "southend" of West Palm Beach is a recognized neighborhood/area that is South of Southern Blvd., North of the Lake Worth Border, and East of I-95, and East of the railroad tracks. (AKA "SoSo" area).

southendneighbors.com - Home

It's actually one of the more desired areas in West Palm Beach, with write ups in the NY Times, etc. about how it's the unpretensious alternative to Palm Beach for many fashionable New Yorkers. Of course the area between the tracks and Parker Ave. South of Belvedered Rd. is AKA "Latinland"... but they're really just working class people, and the 33405 zip is the sfst in West Palm.

If by "Southern" you mean down by the airport, well, I think that is actually not even considered West Palm Beach, though it may have a West palm address. Here is a map of the city limits:

Yeah, I wasn't talking about east of 95. South Tampa is also one of the most sought after areas in Tampa so that was actually a compliment, which is a large waterfront area mixed with historic and newer homes.
