Best senior living community in Boca
Looking for opinions on senior independent living communities in Boca or surrounding areas. The Century Village listings look old and depressing. Any newer developments?

Boca Lago is much nicer. Not sure if it's 100% senior but it should still be close to that. Huge development off either Boca Rio Rd. or Lyons Rd. Best wishes!

Senior Living around Boca
My husband and I, just over 60 (and needing a pet friendly development) just finished looking for a week. We are relocating from NY.
We find the Florida lifestyle in Boca, Boynton and Delray very appealing.
During the past week, we must have seen 15 units and found the Valencia developements the best. They are in Boynton and Delray. Tivoli was beautiful too, but almost empty due to snowbirds. Because of less units and the summer, there were only 2 people at the pool. Most others were up North. Valencia had more social activities and many residents stayed year-round-- we could be busy 24/7. There are other pet friendly HOAs but higher priced and less occupied.
Since all the Valencia developments are large, and the homes beautiful, we'll be there year-round.
Boca was just too expensive and the over 55 communities not any more attractive than where we're ending up.

Thanks for the information! By chance, did you see St Andrew's, Kings Point, or Palladin in Boca?

An empty pool area is a blessing so enjoy it while it lasts. Wait 'til season and you'll be looking forward to the quiet again.
Keep in mind those senior communities do allow everyone's grandkids to visit for several days at a time so come season, you are going to have screaming kiddies jumping about. Again, enjoy the quiet while it's there.

In the Boca / Delray area you have lots 55+ communities. It seems like all the communities of Atlantic Ave is 55+. Century Village in Boca and Kings Point in Delray are very affordable. I know people in CV and they like it and in my opinion it is nicer than Kings Point, they also had some problems after the huricanes in 2005. I also have heard opinos of people who do not like CV. I think it depends on what type of place you are looking for and your price range.

My grandparents used to own but I know you can rent in Gleneagles in Del Ray. When I called about renting there cause I thought it was very nice but this was like 15 years ago they said I had to be over 55. It was very nice they had many pools,I think 3 club houses, fitness. The condo was very nice too.

My parents live in Whisper Walk in Boca and they love it... When Dad came here to live, I thought he was just going to sit in his enclosed porch and do nothing.... BOY WAS I WRONG...
They are on the bowling team, take day trips to the Casino, play cards 3 nights a week, go to the movies, out to dinner with their friends etc....
They love it there... Whisper Walk is broken up into different sections. My parents are in Greenlee but all the sections are really nice and totally active. It is located in West Boca on Lyons Road.
If you haven't found anything yet, look there...

Hello Again,
Century Village, Kings Point and PB Leisureville are always desireable for their ammenities and price point, but I agree that they lack some life and energy that you will find in communities such as the Valencia's in Boynton Beach. I just sold another in Valencia Point in Boynton Beach and it is a beautiful neighborhood with a great active adult environment. The 55+ communities in Boca Raton are older and for better value, a short drive north you are entering a new world of 55+. Depending on your lifestyle and location preference, each has something unique to offer.
