Oh, yeah, that's how one neighborhood in "Wellington" is, there address is Lake Worth, but they attend Wellington schools. It's all pretty confusing to me.

I wouldn't consider Lake Worth a small city, because it has many parts. West of Jog road you are golden, but I would stay away from I-95 through Dixie Hwy, and the Greenacres area, (bounded by Jog road, Forest Hill, Congress Ave, Lake Worth Rd). These areas have never been good in my lifetime, although I would consider Greenacres the best of the two. Lake Clark Shores (may be WPB address), Atlantis (although this may be Lantana?), downtown Lake Worth, (east of Dixie Hwy), West Lake Worth, (past Jog and Turnpike) are nice areas.
You can also see a breakout of towns located here, if this helps -
Palm Beach County, Florida - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The best thing for you to do is go drive around all of Lake Worth, even out by Wellington. What type of home does your friend want? What type of area? (because most subdivisions have nothing to do in walking distance). Does she want to live in a subdivision, or older, established neighborhood?

Atlantis is its own city, in all of its gated glory.

There are good areas and bad areas, I would drive through any area you are contemplating spending time.

geez people..Label much. If the address says Lake Worth, it's in Lake Worth. Mail delivery doesn't lie. What's up with this. Not Lake Worth, it's West Boynton stuff. I have friends in the area described and they are proud to say they live in Lake Worth. They should know, they live there and have been for years -SETTLE DOWN!!!

Lake Worth FL postal codes as found on USPS - The United States Postal Service (U.S. Postal Service). Hope that helps all of you searching for rentals or purchasing new homes. Good luck with your search for your home.

No, that is untrue. The areas are in unincorporated Palm Beach County, meaning they're not located in any city. The statistics are not counted in the official census. Since the area is so close to Boynton and some of the areas out there also use Boynton addresses the area has been dubbed West Boynton, even though it's not considered Boynton Beach either... hence the reason why it's called WEST (and the Beach part is taken out to emphasize that it's not near it).
They can say that they're proud all they want. Doesn't make them correct. Lake Worth doesn't even extend far west of the highway. The western portion is Lake Worth Corridor, a different city itself. That is in the census as its own city. Once you're past South Military Trail it does not count so it's not considered Lake Worth or Lake Worth Corridor, it just uses those addresses since that is where their post offices are located.

I live in Smith Farm, off of Lantana and Hagen Ranch...it's a Lake Worth address but considered unincorporated Palm Beach County....We are covered by Palm Beach Sheriff's Office not Boynton Beach Police Department so I know we are not located in West Boynton Beach.....

Jog Road
I am contemplating buying a condo in Lake Worth. It is off Jog Road down the road from Winston Trails golf course and the community of Lake Charleston. Can anyone tell me about what kind of area it is in. I know it is considered West Lake Worth and is near West Boynton Beach. I have read other post that have given conflicting information wheather it is West Boynton or Lake Worth. Thanks
