I would love to move to Wellington...we were there this past weekend and I loved it. Is it possible to find a 3 bedroom house in a nice area...preferably a community type area with a pool, tennis, etc for about $300,000? I don't need luxury or 2,000 square feet, just nice, clean, friendly, pretty and safe surroundings, and a nice back yard. I have 2 kids, ages 5 and 7, so kid friendly. Another question...anyone know if one can get better prices through preconstruction? Are there any preconstruction developments that anyone knows of?
Thanks!!! |

You can do that this far south, so I imagine you could even get that 2000 square feet for 300k in Wellington for sure. The prices are going to continue to fall however, I would rent for a year and maybe even two years so you could find an even better value and not lose money on it!

It might be possible but very hard to find. I'm moving back down to the area after being gone for a year but I think it's hard to find preconstruction for under 500K.

You could probably find something in Wellington for under 300K but it probably won't be new construction or in a "community" type of setting, i.e. community pool/clubhouse, tennis courts, etc.
They're older homes, but they're very nice homes. Check out Sugar Pond Manor. The subdivision is off Greenview Shores and Wellington Trace goes through part of it. The Village of Wellington seems to have an active parks/rec department, so you can go to a village pool and whatever else strikes your fancy. |

Prices are going to continue to drop ! Don't make a mistake and buy now. Prices are still not affordable to most people, and until that happens, prices will continue to fall ! This just posted on CNBC today > Home Prices Keep Falling, Prolonging Financial Crisis - Real Estate * US * News * Story - MSNBC.com
Like Compelled stated...>RENT for a year before buying, you will be pleasantly surprised ! |

Well I still have to sell my house in Dade and I won't be doing that for a while yet...I am just starting to look into Wellington and it seems there is nothing to dislike. I am trying to time it right so I can make the most money on my house and still pay the least for a new house. Any ideas?
