On the contrary, there are actually very nice people in here in West boca, which we werent expecting with the stigma and all. but anyway my kids have made friends already as my daughter goes to camp, and 4 of the girls knowing she is new here went up to her and introduced themselves and exchanged numbers.and is going over to one of the girls houses today after camp....my 14 yr old son has made some friends here as well and is hardly home these days...I was in target the other day West boca and 2 ladies heard me talking to the cashier and asked me how we like it here so on and so fourth...We dont drive luxury Vehicles, we arent snobby and my neighbors are all very nice, as I was invited for drinks on friday's.....It was a nice surprise for us as going in we kept an open mind knowing the stigma of West boca....anyway, it really depends on what you are looking for...the gals I met are very down to earth do NOT like people who flaunt and says its a bit Tacky....and trust me these people have money they arent rich but they are comfortable...Well we like it so far, and no complaints...good luck with your move...

i'm so glad you have found it that way berry juice.
i don't know why my experiences have been different, but i think i remember you are all the way west, as in water's edge school district or close to it. and i have met a lot of nice people out there. when i say west boca i mean all of unincorporated boca, which, as a composite, is definitely not the same as some of the much friendlier subdivisions that are practically in the everglades. i know several very nice families who live out there.
apologies for stereotyping.

pls dont appologize as we thought the same thing going into it....Again I find that no matter where u live u are going to enounter those kind of people, we just choose not to deal with with it...like tonight we went to pick up our daughter from a friends house she met at camp, and let me tell u if u saw where they lived u would say OMG I bet they are snobby, well we were so blown away on how nice they were we wound up staying there the whole evening...again maybe we are lucky that we have had such nice experiences but its all good and yes u are right we are waters edge...

Boca vs. Delray
My experiences are very similar to berryjuice4life. We've lived in W. Boca for about 1 1/2 years...we're not from NY so we are definitely in the minority..yes, there are snobs here, but there are also very nice people..you just have to weed out the bad ones! I have 3 children and they have made many friends. They go to the public schools. Are the public schools perfect? No, but I'm hard pressed to find any public, or private school, for that matter that isn't without its problems. My neighbor spends $20,000+/yr on 3 different private schools for her children and complains about them all. Go figure!

I saw more of the stereo type of Boca in the winter then now. That is for sure. I am in Boca and with that I just try to not let it get to me. I feel people who take out their issues or act like that deep down are insecure and have issues. It does not make one better because they drive a certain car etc. I don't have kids though I heard Boca has better school districts. I will say the parents on here seem like good role models of what is important.
