I moved from LI to Wellington a little over a year ago. I came for a job opportunity and still work for my NY employer. I work in Boca. I would not have made the move without the job in place. We like it. In my opinion, compared to where I am from, Florida is not the best place to raise a family but Wellington is far superior than many areas doen here. We were very unhappy with my daughter's teacher/school for her kindergarden year. Now she is in an accelerated 1st grade class and it is much better. My younger one is in a private pre-K type school. She is very happy.

In terms of good paying jobs in Wellington - I really do not know of any unless you are a doctor or other type professional. The job market is very bad down here. Very bad.

I don't mean to be all doom and gloom - Wellington is very nice. You would need to spend some time here to make an informed decision. Rent do not buy.

I had went for 3 weeks last year to Wellington and stayed near the polo grounds. I thought it was a lovely community and upscale/safe.I had always in the past been to Boca/Delray and I thought Wellington was more middle aged families but I could be wrong. What do you do know and have you researched the opportunities there for that or something you are interested in?

We have only lived here for six months, but we really like Wellington. Most people are friendly, the schools are good and the shopping is excellent. Our neighbors who have lived here much longer are very happy with Wellington. Everyone says it has a nice "hometown" feel to it. I assume most jobs that pay decent are professional....seems like everyone I know came here for a specific job they already had. Good luck!!
