West vs East Boca?
Are both the west and east side of Boca Raton nice areas to live in? Are there benefits of one vs the other?

I think it depends on what your looking for. West Boca is more suburban than the east side. I feel a definite difference when I go to the east side.
I'd start listing some of the differences, but I'd end up with my head on a platter.
(btw I live on the west side)

Unless you have $$$ live anywhere WEST of I-95. The houses EAST of I-95 are much older and smaller, so unless you can afford a nicer house or a intercoastal/ocean condo it's better to live WEST of I-95. The entire Boca Raton is suburban to me, there's a few old bars and hookah bars in East Boca, but really there's not much, it's more about the beach, that's the only reason I'd even consider living in East Boca.

I would agree that west Boca is more suburban and it's also cheaper than east Boca. I lived in east Boca and loved it. The schools are better there if that is a consideration for you.

I've lived in neither place, but I like the "feel" of East Boca better. A lot more character.
Just don't live in "Pearl City."

Actually, 2 of the elementary schools that are listed in the top 10 for the state are located in West Boca. Well, one is truly west (Waters Edge) and the other is more central (Del Prado). I'm the parent of a Del Prado student and we've been pretty pleased so far. For the most part, you really can't go wrong with any of the schools in Boca.

Palm Beach Gardens is a very good area. Don't know about the schools there tho. I worked as a real estate agent for awhile in south Palm Beach county which is why I know about the schools there. And the previous poster is correct about the schools in central Boca - very good. Palm Beach gardens is very pretty and manicured like Boca.

Thanks it is so confusing not know what is ok or not. I am still looking for short term or a room ate type of issue until I figure out the part of FL I want to be in so I am not committed long term in an area that is not goo. I still really like the Wellington area but many there at this time for a short term rental month to month are a few thousand. Also schools are not an issue as I have no children and am single and 30 so though a home body parts of Boca are much older.I don't mind that just also it makes it harder to meet people and that is hard as it is. Thanks
