Can anyone tell me which community in Wellington would be optimal for a family with four children ages 3-10. We may be relocating to Wellington this summer (home rental only, for now) and I am starting to do research in that area. I understand that some communities have a high volume of foreclosures. How does this affect someone renting? Are people finding that they are moving into these areas only to have the owner go through a foreclosure. Are the communities not maintained as well as they should be? Are they any communities to stay away from because the population is not kid friendly?

Any and all input is greatly appreciated! Employment is not an issue. We are just concerned about the kids. I would love a nice community with a kid friendly center/pool for them to meet lots of other children their age.

Thank you !!!

What is the deal with Olympia? Are the homes in foreclosure or pre-foreclosure or are they not being bought up? It is hard to tell on realtor.com. None of the rentals offered have window treatments or paint other than building primer. I looked into that community because there are so many rentals. I am just looking for a young family type of communityso my kids feel "at home". It is just a rental for now. If I like the community I can always buy in the future. I am also afraid I will get into a rental and the owner will lose the home.

Any recommended areas?

We moved to Wellington last summer.....you will love it here. There are plenty of rentals in good neighborhoods....most do have foreclosures, some more than others. Go through a real estate agent and rent only with an agent representing you. We rent in Versailles and our agent only showed us homes with owners willing and able to go through the background check. The owner pays a small fee to the agent, but both owner and renter are protected by credit checks, background checks, etc. You are smart to rent first...even with all the great deals out there...we are still sitting back and observing the market. You'll know when and where is right for you. Good luck with your move.
