We moved to boca and love it..yes im jewish but not rich and most of my new friends arent rich either, and there are some very nice people here, despite what everyone seems to think...and alot nicer than some other other places we have lived...one needs to draw their own conclusion, where we fit in might not be for everyone however its just a Sterotype any which way..and Most of the restaurants here are no more expensive than some other places...we spend the same amount of money here for going out than we did where we just came from...sorry but I dont know very many people that go to upscale restaurants all the time....almost all of our friends dine in normal places unless its a special occasion..

cleanhouse, I know whatcha mean. I've a dear friend who cannot be alone for one evening. Always has to be with someone or running, running whereas I crave some time alone. Maybe I'm the one who needs to rethink things. lol But really, a good book and a cuppa at a fave cafe. Nothing like it.
berryjuice, I found in several writing classes I attended, it was retired Jewish ladies...and men who adopted me into their hearts. I love it.

I live in Boca and am not well off though I am Jewish but not religious. I have family though that is more the stereo type. I have rented in the past in Wellington which I really liked as I though it was younger and more working well off rather then retired well off. I also felt Wellington there was more of a mix of people. I have nothing against rich and Jewish people in Boca. What I do have a problem with is when people are rude to others based on that they have money. Money does not make one better and the way I have seen some staff especially treated is unreal to me. I try to remind myself that people who treat others in that fashion have insecurities or issues cause they would not act that way otherwise.

The "Upscale" bit went south when they built the Wellington Green Mall, there is nothing upscale about it. Just like at one time the Boca Towne Center was an ordinary mall. Maybe someday the Wellington Green Mall will go through a makeover and add a Neiman Marcus and other high end stores, probably not though because it has taken over for the Palm Beach Mall and Palm Tran is busy going westbound.
Also I don't know of "super expensive" restaurants in Wellington, Players Club is probably the only place I can think of that is moderately expensive. Most of Wellington is family oriented places.

They tried, but it ended up turning into the Palm Beach County version of Pembroke Pines.

Boca
I am happy in Boca, not Jewish, have a family and many extended family members who all live there and love it. We go to a great church, volunteer our time in the community, love the weather, the beach and being outdoors.

remember the bumber sticker "If u dont like south Florida take I-95 north?"
Boca (and south fla in general) always had a problem with obnoxious NY'ers. But from what i hear, Boca is totally full of such characters these days...
i live there from 89 till 95 and loved boca. It wasnt really crowded back then. Glades road never had any traffic, El torito served good mexican food and the wildflower (on the intercoastal) was the place for to hook up. Mizn(ah) park was just being built.
Good Fellas was down on A1A.
i loved boca then and i was planning to move back (i m in the mediterenean now) but from what i read in this thread, i m having 2nd thoughts.....
"Harold!!!....my bagel has noooo saaalmon...order me a Reuuuuuben"
(gotta love Boca)
