West Palm Beach is more dangerous than Miami according to crime rates
Does anyone think the crime in PBC is getting worse and worse? Palm Beach County is supposed to be the 15th most dangerous U.S. city now and has higher crime rates than Miami. How did PBC get like this all of a sudden in the past few years?

Just read the paper or talk to any police officer about the crime. IT'S BAD As to why it got like this just look around at the type of people moving here. I have lived here since 69 actually went to Palm Springs elementary school back in the early 70's. Have seen all the changes none for the better. Really started getting bad about 10 years ago. A few people have spoke about Wellington. I agree it is a nice area for the most part but there are some run down rental area's in Wellington also. Also a lot of home burglaries. If there are any of you old timers out there you'll really remember when PBC was a GREAT place to live. As for me I can't wait to get out of here!

The City of Miami is not the worst city in Dade County. And In Palm Beach County, I'm pretty sure the most dangerous city is Riviera Beach.

Miami has gotten a lot better from what it used to be in the 1980's and does not have nearly as much crime as it used to. A lot of the bad neighborhoods in Miami have either gentrified or in the process of gentrifying. For example, the Omni district, Park West, Miami Design District, Wynwood, etc.
Palm Beach County on the other hand is another story and unfortunately, crime keeps getting worse there. I really hope they start fighting it or it could get REALLY bad.

Miami the city is only a small portion of Miami-Dade county. Miami's crime rate maybe lower than West Palm Beach's or Bell Glade's but Miami-Dade cities like Opa-Locka, Miami Gardens, Florida City, Homesteas, and Naranja will give PBC cities some competition.

Bad parts of WPB
I didn't see the article so I'm not sure if it specified the crime ridden areas of West Palm, I'm guessing it's not Wellington but it would be areas like Riviera Beach (which someone else mentioned) and Downtown Palm Beach and Belle Glades. My guess would be those areas make the whole county's crime rate seem higher overall.

i second that about nw miami - carol city, liberty city, hialeah. you don't turn on the evening news to see if someone was shot in nw miami... you turn it on and find out HOW MANY were shot. but honestly, it looks less ghetto than parts of PBC

Palm Beach Gardens is beautiful and safe. I really like that city, plenty of shopping and dining, and not too far from West Palm Beach.
