This is why I was asking about transportation. You cant drive to these places..unless you dont have a problem driving home drunk..but you will eventually get caught and you shouldnt do it to begin with...its just not worth it.
How expensive is car service

You can take the water taxi to Rum Bar/Panama Hatties/Waterway earlier in the night if you live near the intracoastal. I don't see too many cabs running around PBG but I'm sure they're available.

There's not much in the way of clubbing in PBG except for what was already mentioned. I've been to club safari millions of times (in my single days) but I'm not really a club person so I haven't noticed if anything else opened up. Oh and I'm not single anymore so I guess that's a makes a difference, too. I don't know what you are really looking for but I prefer to go out to dinner, listen to live music or go to local events in the area. The Rum Bar, Panama and Waterway are pretty good for a casual night. You can find much more in West Palm Beach but if you want to keep it really local, those are a few places to go.

My girlfriend is in the chamber of commerce and could set you (or anyone else) up with the YPOP (young professional) events. There's lots of people at the beach on nice days too. Waterway cafe/rum bar are always packed. Yard house, which is in Downtown is a good area, kind of a meat market, but primarily a younger crowd.
West Palm has a pretty good younger crowd too.

People are friendly I'm sure you'll meet people at work or out on the town. I'd also take the above poster up on the Chamber of Commerce offer.

Spend some time looking at the crime and the demographics. I have a young son and friend living in WPB and wish they weren't. For you I say stay in PBG. All areas have ups and downs but you can get caught in it. Be careful if you are going alone. The bus system is a bit sketchy for a girl by herself sometimes. Try to make a friend then use the system just to get an idea of it before you plan to rely on it. I got told there are definite areas to stay away from. Down by City Place is a neat area though.
