Freedom boat club? (pros and cons, location, downpayment)

Has anyone joined a boat club like this? you put a downpayment down and pay a couple hundred a month and can go pick up a boat for the day.
Just trying to figure out the pros and cons.

I have no joined something like this but are you sure it is only a couple hundred a month? Is that just for one time usage for a month? It sounds fun with little stress. Could you try it for example for a day and see how you like it? Also I would check what does the day consist of hours wise? Any other hidden fees? Sorry I could not be more help but it sounds interesting.

We have neighbors that are members of Freedom Boat Club in Austin. We have been out with them a couple of times. I think we will probably join next year. For us the biggest plus is that we are only a few minutes away from the Lake Travis location and about 20 from Lake Austin. I think the only con they mentioned was that you could not take it out at night.

There are always people trying to unload them on Craigslist I would be cautious and do lots of research first.
