coffee shop in jupiter
I am thinking about opening a green coffee shop in jupiter. From organic coffees, teas and pasties to recycle paper products etc. I would like it to be cozy and hip for all ages to go. With Wi-FI hook up for your computer. The decorator with used furniture and recycle fixtures to make it a little unique. Also maybe on different day at night have someone come play music other nights something different and maybe serve wine at night. I am trying to think of different ideas that are not like a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. A place where the community can come hang out and meet. Does anyone think there is a maket for this kind of business?

No.
Coffee shops like that are an iffy propsition at best, and they work in places with a lot of pedesrain traffic. Driving to a coffee shop is not all that popular.
Then you have to figure out how to make money.
You won't make money with free wi-fi. Big city coffee houses are limiting wi-fi now so that people don't sit there all day. They need to turn tables.
What is your business plan? How much coffee do you need to sell to pay the rent, taxes, insurance, utlities and other expenses and still make a profit?

I definitely would go there ! Maybe give local
artists wall space ? Live acoustic music by locals ???
I love real coffee houses and miss going to them.
The closest coffee house for a person of the type you
want to cater to is in Port Salerno. That being said,
I cant see Jupiters, Starbucks-Gardens Food Court
mindset / population patronizing a shop like you are
proposing in numbers enuff to support it or be profitable.
Good luck, I'll will support it if you can make it happen.......

Thanks for your input and support. I have not gotten that far into creating the business plan yet. I want to do some more research on it and the location maybe Palm Beach Gardens area. I do wish we had a downtown area in Jupiter or Gardens. That would be great! Also what coffee house in Port Salerno I would go and check it out.

Its in the Artists Co-op on the pier at the end of Salerno Road,
on the water, I forget the name of the building.... The ambience
and art studios under one roof make it a nice place to sit and
watch the world go by. I think what you describe would work best
in Martin Co or downtown Lake Worth. WPB downtown might be
receptive but the rent would be too high for a non-alcohol serving
entity in my unscientific opinion
But Jupiter, the Gardens....too Stepford-suburbaniod overall for a
place like you are proposing.

There have been a couple in downtown Stuart. They can't survive.

I like little small cafe type things like this though it does seem they have a hard time staying in business. I know in my home state there was one that also had things like sandwiches/salads,baked goods and many people went in because of that. It was a limited menu but home made items. I also have went in to Starbucks etc for gift type items and they have such limited stuff so that is a thought too. I don't know about the wine as I would think that would add extra expense and liabilty for the start. I feel something in Boca would be good too but I know you were thinking Jupiter. Good luck. I always wanted to open my own cafe but it is not looking very possible.

I think the place you are referring too in Salerno is behind the now closed "bare Bones" resturant and "Finz" is in the back too?
