Boca probably has the oldest population overall of the three, though there is a large university (FAU) in Boca.

Ft. Lauderdale is bigger than WPB, if you go to either place, you will need to be in the downtown areas to be around the "most" young people.

You will find many young people in all three cities. I attend FAU, which is in Boca Raton. I party mostly in Fort Lauderdale or Miami. West Palm Beach has some good spots, but if you want young people I'd choose Fort Lauderdale. You are close to many universities, there are many clubs, and you aren't far from Miami. It's also cheaper than Boca Raton. Everyone drives in South Florida, so don't worry about living in the downtown. The girls are amazing down here, something I'm to miss when I move back to Alaska full-time lol.

Which downtown do you think is nicer...more vibrant and more things to do?
West Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale?

Ft. Lauderdale is bigger and has more things to do.

West Palm is a good downtown for its size, but really cannot be compared to Ft. Lauderdale, just as Ft. Lauderdale can't be compared to Miami.

I feel Boca is older and is a lot of snowbirds but have heard east Boca is younger. The difference in the summer vs winter in amount of people is a lot. Boca I feel is safer overall though I am sure there are some nice areas of the other mentioned. Are you going to be working or going school cause that I feel should be part of the choice in where to live.
