I'm thankfully a stay-at-home mom since it seems that we will be spread out all over the place down there! We are trying to decide where to buy a house and I think we have narrowed it down to Parkland or Coral SPrings. I like Parkland since everything seems newer and more family oriented, and the schools are good, and I love the YMCA recreational area there for the kids. (We visited the area a couple of months ago). My husband is leaning toward COral SPrings though, because it is more "established" of an area (i.e. more shops, restaurants, etc.) and the home prices are lower. Also closer I think to where the boys will be in school. Does anyone have any other pros or cons of these 2 areas?? HELP!!!! Thanks!
If you are committed to private schools (North Broward is private) then it really doesn't matter whether you move to Parkland or Coral Springs. If you can afford it Parkland is prettier than Coral Springs. It is more expensive than the average CS neighborhood, but there are some developments in CS that are just as expensive as Parkland.

There are some differences in the youth sports teams available but I am not sure you care about those.

I don't know a whole lot about the different elementary/middle schools but I know that Douglas and Coral Glades are ok high schools. Taravella is a little lower but still ok. With such little kids it is difficult to plan around HS though because so much changes down here with respect to school boundaries.

Cooper City is def quaint and much more small town, pretty safe area and much more established..its always had a more upper class status back in the 80's..and its kepted i feel throughout the years..

now parkland is like plantation acres to me..with the over an acre lots..established homes ...its upscale country

weston is cookie cutter..and here u cant have ur car on the street for parking..well i guess alot of hoa places r like that...

coral springs is very nice..same thing..more established..but very strict ordinances..i remember way back..about not being allowed to have ur car in the driveway..had to be in the garage..not sure if thats still the case..i thought that was nuts..like who really fits all their cars in the garage..?

Coral Springs has some nice pockets, but there is absolutly no caparison between Parkland and Coral Springs. Coral Springs has a concrete jungle feel, for the most part and ghetto really. Parts of Parkland are identical to Coral springs, the parts that border it. Park Land is just nicer. I lived in both and my kids went to North Broward, it is true if you live in some the nice parts of Coconut Creek, you will be closer to the school,Dearfield and the Beach.
