Driving from DC to Martinsburg to shop makes a lot of sense...

Some people consider the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia to be part of the D.C. Metro area (or at least on the outskirts of it)

Only Jefferson County where I live- is part of the DC metro (the extreme western end of the metro).

As for traveling from DC to shop in Martinsburg- Why? The sales tax is the same (6%) but that's it. DC has more stores, shops and restaurants than Martinsburg what would be the purpose?!

I guess it wasn't clear in my response that I was being sarcastic. I do not travel from D.C. to Martinsburg to shop...

I'm thinking that they are having issues finding someone to fill such a large space and so they want to try something different. It says in the article they are not going to do anything unless they have companies commit.

Talking about the mall, I wonder what they are building right next to Martins Grocery. It does look like a restaurant but I think it is in a bad spot, right next to the curve.
