Tax the county puts on business so they can operate there.

The construction on 340 is the National Border Patrol Training Center. ALL Border Agents for the USA will be training there.

I think the problem with Sears at the Martinsbrug Mall was that it was in competition with its sister locations in Hagerstown and Winchester. I suspect those locations did more business.

I noticed that the Martinsburg location did not necessarily have the same promotions as its sister locations as well- I once bought a pair glasses at the Martinsburg location which had a special buy one get the second half off. It wasn't until I visited the Hagerstown location that I discovered that they had the better deal- buy one get one free. D'oh....

Pity too. That area could have some great potential with the right amount of cash flow and proper business protocol and profit making ideas.

And if they moved a lot of the undesirables out of the area, bulldozed what looks like section 8 housing immediate to the area.

The old Lowe's???? What the heck! Don't tell me that the Lowe's off Exit 12 has also closed. Your a native, is this just another case of the Martinsburg shift?
North side, south side, north side, south side. Same ole stuff just a different side of town.

No, [new location of] Lowe's is still going strong. Both off exit 12. The old Lowe's is located in the same area as the KMart and Food Lion.

Surprised no mention was made of the cinema over by the M/Mall.
